Taraneh Maghamé is an IP business leader recognized for her unique combination of strategic IP licensing know-how and government relations and policy expertise. She is Vice President of Via Licensing, responsible for the company’s multi-party licensing programs for wireless and cellular technologies, as well as other strategic partnerships and projects. She also represents Via before regulatory, industry and policy-setting organizations across the globe, and was selected to participate in the European Commission Group of Experts on Licensing and Valuation of Standard Essential Patents.
Prior to joining Via, Ms. Maghamé was Senior Counsel at Apple, focusing on patent licensing strategy and standards. Before Apple, she was Vice-President for M&A and Patent Policy at Tessera Technologies, where she handled multi-national IP-centric transactions and co-founded the Innovation Alliance, an organization representing patent holders’ interests before Congress. She has testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee and the FTC regarding patent law matters.
Ms. Maghamé previously held senior IP roles at HP /Compaq, and practiced IP litigation and licensing at several major US law firms. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and admitted to practice in California and Washington State, and before the USPTO.
